Stationary Camera Stands
CFF built two heavy-duty stationary frames equipped with camera systems capable of recording stereo images for 360+ hours and video for 1-3 hours. These stands are outfitted with LED strobes that are synced to flash only when the cameras take images, minimizing the impact of artificial light on animal behavior. A Hydrolab data logger records a suite of environmental characteristics that can be linked to each image. An integrated drop box or modified crab trap can be added to the stands to drop items benthic organisms, bait, etc. within the image frame to track the impacts of the additions. CFF has used our camera stands during our scallop transplant project to record the behavior of scallops and predators after scallops are moved into an area.
